He has over three decades of experience in the transport industry. He has received various awards including the 'Udyog Ratna' in 1994 by the Institute of Economic Studies, New Delhi, Aaryabhat Award in 2002, Sir M. Visvesvaraya Memorial Award in 2007 and the Transport Samrat in 2008. He was recently selected as 'Transport Personlity of the year' during the recently concluded India Road Transportation Awards 2012 (IRTA).In 2020, the Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award in the Republic of India.

Dr M. M. Joshi gets National Recognition. Dr M. M. Joshi, renowned Eye surgeon of Hubli has been awarded the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ by All India Ophthalmological Society for the year 2013-14. It is a distinguished professional honour given once in a year by the National body for Eye specialists who have done yeoman service to the society. Dr Joshi received this Award in the AIOS conference held at New Delhi in February 2015. Dr M. M. Joshi, has been conferred with the prestigious “Padma Shri” Award from Government of India as a recognition of his yeoman service to mankind in the field of community Eye Care.

Shri Chandrakant Bellad is the former member of Karnataka Legislative Assembly. He was elected to Karnataka Legislative Assembly (from Dharwad Assembly constituency) in 1994 and 1999. He also represented Hubli-Dharwad West from 2008 to 2013. He was the President of Border Area Development Authority from 2008 to 2013. He announced retirement from active politics before 2013 Karnataka Legislative Assembly elections.
